In 2009, we made some noticeable changes to the course, with more enhancements slated for the upcoming season.
For the beginner the course will be a fun and friendly place to start. We have a large teaching and practice facility where we can introduce you to the game with some wonderful lesson packages and practice options.
For the expert golfer, welcome to some of the best greens and tees in Muskoka (or so we've been told!)
Enjoy the true Scottish links feel to the course but watch out for your errant shot! The gorse grasses can exhibit an appetite for golf balls!
We have four sets of tees on every hole, including a very forward set of tees for Junior players. The course is now longer than 5,600 yards from the tips with a new tee deck opening on the 11th hole - no going for the green from this one!
Muskoka Highlands is a good course for a beginner, as we have lots of room to play and many tee decks. But we still see lots of whiffs on the back decks. This rolling terrain used to be a dairy farm and is very walkable. It plays like a traditional Scottish golf course.
A "green" course in more than the traditional way! We are very conscious of our fragile environment.
We minimize the use of water on our course. We do not water the fairways, a very deliberate move on our part. With the supply of fresh water dwindling even in Muskoka, we believe you can either drink it or walk on it. We do not have enough to do both.
We let Mother Nature control the playing surfaces between the tee and green and she offers a wide variety of conditions, depending on the time of year you play here.
