The Tax on Golf Will Be Increasing in Ontario

The McGuinty Government of Ontario is proposing a harmonization of PST and GST. This means that a variety of services, including golf, which are currently exempt from PST will attract an additional 8% in tax, beginning July 2010.

Help Stop the HST

Prices of many services, including golf, gas, internet services, hair cuts, gym memberships, legal and accounting services, construction and renovations, real estate commissions, and others will be increasing as a result of the HST. The McGuinty government will collect an additional $2.2 Billion in sales tax when the taxes are harmonized. Help stop the Harmonized Sales Tax from passing by Writing a Letter or Sending an Email to your MPP. PC members are against the HST, while Liberals are for it. Letters to Liberals threatening not to vote for them again will be most effective at stopping this tax.
